The Roofer is simply a person whose job is to perform a variety of basic tasks, usually within an industrial or a construction environment. The roofer must be in good physical condition as they will be required to perform manual labor within conditions that are sometimes less than ideal, such as outdoors during inclement winter.

Job Type: Full-time, year round

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Roofing experience such as flat roofs

  • Patching and repairing

  • Working with tar

  • Foam underlays

  • Interior roofing

  • Ability to inspect problems and fix where necessary

  • Apply gravel or pebbles over top layers of roofs

  • Mop or pour hot asphalt or tar onto roof

  • Install vapour barriers or layers of insulation on flat roofs

  • Maintain work area to Precise ParkLink standards

  • Works under the direction of the supervisor

  • Assists in any phase of shop operation, such as, but not limited to: Set-up, sweeping and cleaning specified areas, handling, sorting and storing materials and supplies * Loading and unloading trucks at the doc areas

  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy lifting

  • Keeps equipment and working area clean and orderly

  • Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times

  • Complete other jobs/tasks during the winter months

Specific Skills Required:

Roofer must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination and endurance. Roofers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have scheduling flexibility (shift, on-call and overtime hours as required)

  • Must be punctual and self disciplined

  • Must be polite and have professional attitude

  • Positive, friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and personable

  • Ability to work independently and in team environment

  • Criminal and Credit clearance required


  • General Labour: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Roofing: 1 year (Preferred)
