About Leamy Lake Park
Opened in 1961, Leamy Lake Park in Gatineau is the largest urban park in Canada’s Capital Region. It occupies 174 hectares on Fournier Boulevard in the Hull sector, and is accessible by the Leamy Lake Pathway. Leamy Lake Park contains important archaeological sites, revealing that people occupied this area as early as 5,000 to 6,000 years ago. The northern section of the park is also an exceptional site for birdwatching, where more than 30 species of birds have been observed. To reach the lake by boat, you must go through the Leamy Lake Navigation Channel. This channel also leads to Lac de la Carrière and the Casino du Lac-Leamy.
