What Are the First Steps to Ensure a Parking Lot is Visible Online?

Q&A with Marketing & Communications Coordinator Krystan Hayden.

According to Google, 97% of consumers use the web to search for local businesses or services – and if most of your potential customers are online, you should be too. As a property manager who oversees a parking program, ensuring your parking operator creates a strong online presence for your parking facility is integral for parking revenue generation.

But how can you make sure they get started? Becoming familiar with the process will help. We asked Precise ParkLink’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Krystan Hayden, what parking operators should do to set up a successful marketing strategy for their client’s parking facility.

Q. What are the first steps to ensure a parking lot is visible online?

A. The foundation of any digital marketing strategy begins with creating an online presence. Creating an online presence for the location of your parking facility consists of developing a web page that is optimized for Google’s search algorithm. This web page should include details about your parking lot such as the rates, accepted payment methods, photos of the parking areas and a list of nearby venues.

Once you’ve created a web page that features your parking information, it’s time to register your location with a variety of online maps such as Google and Waze as well as an assortment of in-car navigation systems.

Ensuring your location is visible on multiple online maps is a great way to increase visibility for your parking facility. However, an important thing to note is that it is essential to confirm that your location listing is optimized with all the necessary details customers may want to know about your parking facility. This will ensure your location ranks high on search engines such as Google.

An informative and up-to-date location listing on a variety of online maps demonstrates to customers that your business is reputable and trustworthy, instantly compelling customers to park at your lot.
