Ensuring a safe parking experience is vital when designing your parking facility infrastructure. Installing safety signage is a highly effective way to enhance the safety of your facility, helping to mitigate risk and liabilities from occurring on your property.

Below are various types of safety signage that you should implement at your facility.

Warning Signs

Do Not Enter Sign effectively prohibit visitors from entering a designated area of your facility that may pose hazards to them.

STOP Sign can prevent unsafe driving practices within your facility, ensuring that drivers come to a complete stop when required.

Traffic Yield Sign helps in ensuring your visitors are yielding when necessary, particularly at pedestrian crosswalks or merging points, thus reducing the risk of accidents.

Fire Route Sign serve as a vital warning to visitors that parking is strictly prohibited in designated areas to keep them clear at all times. This is crucial in case of emergencies when the fire department needs access.

Pedestrian Sign serves as a warning to drivers that pedestrians are actively walking throughout your facility. Drivers are urged to be mindful of their speed and driving practices to ensure pedestrian safety.

Guidance Signs

One-Way Sign notifies visitors that the designated lane way is one-way only, helping to reduce traffic congestion and/or traffic related incidents.

Speed Limit Sign informs visitors of the maximum allowable speed within your facility, ensuring the speed of all vehicles is at safe and manageable levels.

Accessible Parking Sign guarantee that individuals with disabilities have safe and accessible parking spots. According to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the number of accessible parking spaces required in facilities varies depending on the total number of parking spaces available. Larger facilities need more accessible spaces to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

Safety for customers, staff, and other users in the parking lot should be the top priority for parking lot management. Installing warning and guidance signs is an effective way to communicate important information to all customers, whether drivers or pedestrians. These signs play a critical role in ensuring that everyone follows the necessary regulations and guidelines, hence creating a safer and more pleasant experience for all.
