Accessibility is essential to running any successful business operation, and this includes parking. With user-friendly designs being a core aspect of our technology, Precise ParkLink is dedicated to providing parking solutions that are accessible for all abilities. Offering solutions that allow our client to stay up-to-date with market expectations, deliver service excellence and capture as much of the market as possible is our fundamental focus.

Our latest generation of skiosk pay stations, manufactured by Skidata, is a line of interactive and multifunctional digital kiosks combining ease-of-use and intelligent technology into a new class of accessible devices. The new line includes three multifunctional devices: skiosk Smart, skiosk Lite and skiosk Slim. The devices feature accessible touch operation, colour contrasts, operating height controls, assistive listening systems and interactive self-service tools for optimal accessibility.

Luigi Lato, Chief Operating Officer at Precise ParkLink, explains that "Precise ParkLink is very proud to introduce pay stations that meet evolving Canadian accessibility standards. We choose to partner with global technology leaders such as Skidata because their solutions are reliable and leading-edge in all realms, including accessibility.”

The following functions of the skiosk pay stations meet the CSA-B651-18 National Standard of Canada requirements:

  • Large touch screens with accessible-height displays and control operations using scroll or shift screen functions

  • A variety of cashless payment, validation and reservation options

  • Assistive listening systems for Audio Frequency Induction Loop (AFIL)-compatible hearing aids

  • Accessible-smart designs: consistent and robust colour, character, braille and symbol contrasts, international symbols, glare-free surfaces, bright illumination levels.

As a supplier to the Canadian market, Precise ParkLink is committed to ensuring its solutions and product offerings meet Canadian standards. Manufactured in Europe, the skiosk product line was designed to meet global accessibility requirements. Lato explains, however, that “Precise ParkLink chose to take its commitment to accessibility one step further by undergoing and responding to several certified external accessibility audits. Our in-house research and development team worked diligently to modify the pay stations to meet Canadian market standards authentically. Today, we can confidently say that the skiosk pay station meets Canadian accessibility standards and is being integrated at many healthcare institutions and leading organizations across Canada.”

Precise ParkLink underwent multiple external audits hosted by Enable Wellness and ABE Factors Inc. to confirm that the skiosk technology completes a high level of compliance with Canadian accessibility standards.

ABE Factor's conducted an assessment of the three skiosk pay stations based on strict CSA code CAN/CSA-BS51.12-07, according to the National Standard of Canada, ensuring accessible design self-service interactive devices, by Standards Council of Canada.

Samantha Proulx, Principal and Accessible Built Environment (ABE) Specialist, concluded that "The skiosk pay stations are considerably accessible and available for use by a diverse range of individuals. Going above and beyond the minimum standards, devices are connected to Precise ParkLink’s 24/7 live customer service center, which ultimately makes the pay stations that much more user-friendly." Precise ParkLink's 24/7 live customer service integration with its technology is an award-winning service.

Precise ParkLink values accessibility and is committed to providing solutions that are accessible and enable equal opportunity. Our future business and technology road maps consist of solutions that make diverse customer journeys easy, safe and frictionless.
