The City of Saskatoon supports a population of about 278,500 residents in urban and suburban communities centred around where the Yellowhead Highway crosses the South Saskatchewan River.
The Challenges
The City’s reliance on single-space meters began posing major operational challenges as its population grew, prompting a decision to move toward more modern multi-space meters with a view to automatic processes and reducing physical hardware.
The Solutions
A particular pain point for the City was the need to balance the operational changes it needed against a desire to enhance user convenience. To assist, we delivered the new meters a few weeks in advance of city-wide deployment to give residents and City staff alike an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the coming changes.
Even after many years, we continue to support the City of Saskatoon in designing parking solutions to meet their evolving needs, including supporting their installed hardware while deploying Parkedin as the City’s secure mobile payment solution to enhance user convenience even more.
